Get to know who we are
The Watterman story begins in 1970 when Bob Watterman started working as a plumber's apprentice in Baltimore, MD. Bob was a hardworking and dedicated individual who quickly gained a reputation for his skill and expertise in the field.
After several years of working as an apprentice, Bob decided to strike out on his own and start his own plumbing business. With the help of his wife Mary, moved to his hometown of Gaithersburg and set up a small shop in their garage and began taking on jobs around town.
At first, business was slow, but word quickly spread about Bob’s quality workmanship and honest pricing. As the demand for his services grew, Bob hired his first employee and moved the out of the garage.
Over the years, the company expanded its services to include heating and air conditioning installation and repair. Bob's sons, Tom and Mike, joined the business after graduating from trade school, and they helped to modernize the company's operations and bring in new clients.
As the business grew, the family became known throughout the region for their exceptional service and dedication to their customers. They built strong relationships with local businesses and homeowners, who came to rely on them for all their plumbing and heating needs.
Despite economic downturns and changes in the industry, the company continued to thrive thanks to its commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. Over the years, the business expanded to include a fleet of service vehicles and a team of highly trained technicians.
Today, more than 30 years after Bob first started his plumbing business, the company is still family-owned and operated. As they look toward the future, the family is committed to maintaining the company's reputation for quality and integrity, and they are confident that the business will continue to thrive for many years to come.
